**Job Description**:
Chep’s production operations are the heart of the business and we’re looking for a dedicated Service and Yard Team Leader to join our Manchester Plant. With the nature of operations, some flexibility around shifts will be required, but this is a Monday to Friday role operating across core hours.

You’ll be responsible for a small team, who’re responsible for the movement of pallets through our production facility. You’ll be looking to optimize the team’s performance and ensure we have an accurate control on our physical stock holding, and inventory for production.

Key responsibilities
- Safety - Ensure that all measures are taken to enable our Zero Harm hazards are objectives
- Effectively lead the team to provide an efficient level of service to all customers
- Control all activities undertaken in the yard including the inspection and repair of Pallets/containers
- Staff Management - identifying and reporting issues around performance management, absence management, grievances, appeals
- Daily and weekly stock reconciliations and investigations into stock variances.
- Report stock and flow movements to and from the plant ensuring the team perform accurate and timely data input and processing
- Labour Costs - Ensure efficient use of labour pool available on the shift
- Process Improvement - Contribute and drive continuous improvement
- Monitor the performance of hauliers and ensure adherence to appointment scheduling process

What you’ll need;
- Prior operational management experience in a production, manufacturing, or logistics environment
- Experience of managing staff absence and holidays
- Ability to engage and motivate workforce and review KPI’s
- Any qualifications in safety or continuous improvement would be highly desirable
