**Yard Operative**

**Location**: Kearsley, Greater Manchester (M261GE)

**What Will The Role Involve?**

As our Yard Operative, you will work Monday - Friday and will assist the Yard Manager and the Support Services Team to ensure that all aspects of the Yard are controlled and maintained, ensuring safety is always a priority. You will be expected to accept deliveries and control access and transport within the yard, making sure that everybody complies with the company’s procedures and Health and Safety requirements. You’ll be expected to ensure the yard is kept tidy and organised so materials can be stored and then reused when required. You’ll also help with the recording of supplies in the yard, such as aggregates, sand stocks, building materials and plant, to ensure communication is clear at all times.

As our Yard Operative, you’ll ensure the main gate is secured and the relevant safety checks are carried out at the end of each day. You’ll keep all areas tidy and clean plant and vehicles internally and externally.

**What Key Skills & Experience Are We Looking For?**

**Essential**
- You should be prepared to challenge unsafe working practices and be confident in reporting these to management.
- The role involves working alone and as part of a team in all weathers, so you should be a resilient self-starter with good time management and the ability to efficiently manage your own workload.
- You should also be a good problem-solver, decision maker, communicator and one who displays exemplary attitudes and behaviours.

**Desirable**
- Full driving licence
- Experience in Construction / Yard / Stores would be an advantage
- CPCS card or similar for a Telehandler / Forklift Truck

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £20,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
