**Essential Criteria**
- 2 years childcare experience in a leadership role
- Level 5 CCLD or equivalent or Level 3 and willing to enrol on Level 5
- Enthusiasm for CCPD
**Desirable Criteria**
- First Aid / Paediatric First Aid
- Child Protection Training
- Food Safety Training
- Health and Safety Qualification
- Forest School Qualification
- Clean driver’s licence
**Main Purpose of Job**
- Take charge of the Nursery in absence of Managers
- Report any issues to Manager/Proprietor
- Assist in writing up the School Collection List or Staff Rota if required.
- Assist in showing prospective parents around the nursery giving information about each room and answering any questions which arise.
- Answer phone in absence of Manager, communicate any messages, information etc to Manager/Proprietor.
- Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Ensure that all staff adhere to Covid 19 guidelines at all times.
- Ensure that staff ratios are adhered to throughout the nursery
Group leader duties include:
- Supervise the day to day care and education of young children. Plan activities, complete developmental reports, liaise with parents, direct nursery assistants.
- To work as part of a team and lead by example in providing a safe, caring, happy and stimulating environment for the children in our care.
- To ensure that the high standards of care, service, safety and hygiene are maintained according to Hillcrest policies, procedures and routines
- Contribute to the day to day care and education of young children. Plan activities, complete developmental reports, liaise with parents.
