This administrative role will give you the opportunity to work in a vibrant and busy radiotherapy department within a team that are compassionate and dedicated to delivering high quality patient care in everything they do. The post-holder will be primarily responsible for booking and manipulating complex radiotherapy pathways to tailor treatment requirements to the individual patient. They will also be key in communicating this complex information to patients along with preparation instructions for the radiotherapy planning process. This role will sit within a dedicated team at the London site but the post holder may be asked to co-ordinate the flow for both sites of the radiotherapy department.

The Royal Marsden Hospital - Chelsea site based
- The post-holder will be primarily responsible for booking and manipulating complex radiotherapy pathways to tailor treatment requirements to the individual patient. This process will be digital using the Aria oncology management system. They will also be key in communicating this complex information to patients - this will be in person or by phone predominantly. To do this the individual will need to interpret radiotherapy referrals and consent information. Liaise with clinicians, section managers and other disciplines to formulate the correct patient pathway, whilst adhering to the cancer wait targets. The post will be based in Chelsea but the post holder may be asked to coordinate patient flow for both sites of the radiotherapy department.
- The post holder will be required to understand the complex radiotherapy pathways and techniques and the limitations of equipment with respect to appropriate workload. The post holder must be able to communicate information to the patients so that they are appropriately prepared for their procedures.
- The post-holder will liaise with medical, physics, nursing, clerical and support staff within the department and throughout the institution. The key working relationships will be with Superintendent Radiographers and clinical oncologists, particularly the SpRs.

- Be responsible for the management of patient appointments and the patient’s information needs before treatment when a booking is made without the patient present.
- Responsible for timely and accurate response to booking requests, supporting RT clinics for bookings.
- Able to interpret treatment requirements for individual patients and coordinate pathway appropriately.
- Assess all bookings for adherence to waiting time guidelines and escalate as necessary.
- Communicate all information in relation to patient pathway as requested to patients.
- Record any relevant contact with patient on Hospital Information System or Aria.
- Be able to make bookings according to departmental protocols in compliance with IR(ME)R.
- The post holder will be required to demonstrate their developed physical skills to fulfil duties where there is a specific requirement for accuracy and speed, e.g., booking, cancelling and re-scheduling of patients on ARIA, ensuring no patient is given an appointment on occasions when a treatment resource (such as Linear Accelerator) is unavailable, with guidance - as necessary - from the pre-treatment/treatment section managers or other appropriate radiographers.
