We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Transport Planner to join our dynamic team. **Job Overview**:
As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating UK deliveries efficiently and cost-effectively. You will ensure that our transportation operations run smoothly, liaising with customers, the warehouse, and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and a seamless transport process. You will also play a key role in managing our transport management system (TMS) and booking all necessary transport and ferry/train services.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Route Planning**: Plan cost-effective and efficient routes for UK deliveries, ensuring optimal use of resources and minimizing costs.
- **Transport Management System (TMS)**: Update and maintain the TMS with up-to-date job information, tracking, and delivery details.
- **Job Booking**: Book transport jobs, including scheduling vehicles, arranging ferries, and train bookings for deliveries to various locations.
- **Sourcing Backloads**: Proactively source and secure backloads to maximize vehicle capacity and reduce empty miles.
- **Customer Liaison**: Communicate with customers regarding delivery schedules, changes, or issues, providing excellent customer service.
- **Manifests & Load Creation**: Generate and maintain manifests for each load, ensuring all details are correct and all necessary documents are prepared for transport.
- **Warehouse Coordination**: Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure smooth truck turnaround times and ensure that goods are loaded and dispatched promptly.
- **Cost Management**: Monitor and control transport costs, identifying areas to improve efficiency and reduce expenditure.
- **Problem Solving**: Address any issues related to deliveries, including delays, customer inquiries, or unexpected transport problems.
- **Compliance**: Ensure all deliveries comply with UK transport regulations, including safety and legal requirements for vehicles and goods.

**Required Skills & Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in transport planning or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of UK road networks and transport regulations.
- Familiarity with Transport Management Systems (TMS) or similar planning tools.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, drivers, and internal teams.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in route planning, scheduling, and booking ferries/trains is desirable.
- A proactive, results-oriented attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.

**Desirable Skills**:

- Experience in backloading and sourcing cost-effective transport solutions.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and coordination.

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
