**About the Role**:
As a Trainee Assistant Buyer, you'll assist and support our Buying Teams to carry out the processes of planning, selecting, administration, supplier and store liaison to achieve the overall department objectives.
- Set up new supplier account details, ensuring all suppliers are aware of and understand Matalan’s requirements, communicating any issues to your Buying team.
- Liaise with suppliers to chase Red and Gold samples to ensure timely deliveries in line with the critical path and maintain an organised and tidy sample room.
- Conduct online and in-store benchmarking of key competitors to ensure we are offering the latest trends and products at the best price.
- Raising and tracking purchase orders
- Preparing product rooms for meetings
- Ad Hoc Administration Duties
