An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Mechanical Design Engineer based in Herefordshire to join a leading manufacturer of complex electronics equipment, predominantly used within the renewable energy sector.
You will be joining a well-established R&D team at a company who invest heavily in product development across challenging and diverse projects. Within the product development team, they have very strong product design skillsets, and this Mechanical Design Engineerwill compliment this existing expertise.
Some of the main responsibilities for the Mechanical Design Engineer will be to:

- Application of sound knowledge of engineering design principles
- Generation of robust 3D models and assemblies
- Creation of 2D drawings for both manufacturing and component assembly.
- Ongoing support of existing products through changes instigated through the ECR process.
- Tolerance analysis and material selection of designed components
- Checks of drawings produced to ensure accuracy and suitability
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Competent in the use of Solidworks for 3D modelling and 2D drawings.
- Proven understanding of mechanical principles
- Knowledge and expertise with common manufacturing methods e.G. Metal fabrications, machining, castings, surface coatings, plastic mouldings etc.
- Electrical / electronic integration
- Concept design through to detailing
