We are looking for dynamic Recovery Workers to join Beech, our newly refurbished twenty-four-hour mental
health step-down unit. This is an exciting time to join our unique service as we establish a new 10 bed stepdown provision for service users in Sheffield following an acute inpatient admission.
Experience in mental health and the ability to understand the impact this has on people’s lives is essential.
The team will help you through your induction and support is available to gain the necessary Care Certificate
Qualifications.
You will be joining a positive and supportive team where your contributions are needed and valued. Our
mission is to provide the best care to our service users and to help them realise their potential. You will have
the time to work closely with service users, supporting them to set realistic goals and to make improvements
and developments in their lives.
If you have an interest in working with people in a mental health and social care setting, then this service is
an ideal area for you to work and will provide you with an excellent opportunity to work in a unique highly
thought after area within Sheffield Health and Social Care Trust and be part of this developing service.

a service user’s recovery plan, engaging them in gainful activities, which will support their transition back into
the community.
To be successful you must have experience of working with people with mental health needs formally or
informally. You must be able to work creatively with people in an informal setting. You should possess
effective communication skills, a non-judgemental attitude and enjoy working in a team and on you own
initiative. You must have a flexible approach to a variable rota, which reflects the needs of the service as this
will include a variety of shift patterns including weekends, bank holidays and night shifts.
An informal visit or chat is strongly recommended, and this can be arranged by contacting the managers, details of which are given below.
