**Where and when do we need you?**
We have two Residential Children’s home in Brecon Beacons National Park. Over time our 2 homes will accommodate up to 5 children aged between 11 and 18 and the focus will be to provide an enriching and positive environment ensuring we prepare the children in our care to move onto safe and nurturing foster care placements which will be achieved through early intervention.
As a Support Worker you will be involved exciting and rewarding things like:
- Delivering the highest standards of care, protection and support to our young people and manage challenging behaviour resulting from complex needs
- Work as part of the team and be part of internal and external training, team meetings and the planning and decision-making process’s within the home.
- Recognise when it is necessary to intervene using positive handling strategies, in order to ensure the safety of our young people and colleagues.
- Contribute to the monitoring of good practice within the home and ensuring safe working practices.
- Maintain the home and be involved in lots of exciting adventures and activities and much much more
You will be working on a rota basis; Day 1: 9.00 to 23.00 with a sleep in, Day 2: 7.30 to 23.00 with a sleep in, Day 3: 7.30 to 10.00, Day 4 to 6 off.
**Desirable. but not Essential**
- Whilst we value the knowledge and understanding that experience and qualifications can bring we also know that some of our best people have come to us from unrelated backgrounds. These people already held our core values at heart, and with the dedication of our amazing in house training and development team, we have supported the rest_
- Previous experience of working with young people and/or adults with health/social care/educational needs
- A Level 3 qualification in childcare/social care
