Driver Trainer

Magnus Search are actively looking for a driver trainer to join of one of the UK's largest and well-known transport and logistics companies are looking for a driving trainer to build and train drivers for their many well-known contracts.
**The role.**
- **Managing Driver standards**
- Safety - Promoting good, safe practice by all colleagues, following trained SSOW.
- Reviewing driving style scores - actively seeking out and helping low performing drivers improve scores through conversations and assessments.
- Vehicle damage - checking vehicles for unreported damage and tracing the cause.
- Tachograph compliance - Ensuring drivers are staying within WTD and EU driving hours rules.
- Investigations - Supporting management with investigations into vehicle and personal accidents, as well as possible disciplinary breeches according to Wincanton standards.
- Checks - Carry out and record daily compliance checks on drivers.
- **Training**
- Driver assessments - Pre-use and all drivers yearly assessments to Wincanton standards, reported using standard forms.
- Core driver licence checks - every 6 months
- Driver CPC courses - Delivering official Wincanton DCPC courses.
- Driver briefs - Ensuring Wincanton, customer, and ad-hoc briefs are understood and signed off by all drivers.
- SSoW - Ensuring all staff (driver and office) are up to date with SSoW
- Other training - As required.
- **Compliance**
- Vehicle maintenance - Ensure vehicles are maintained inline with planned dates and record keeping is in date and relevant.
- Tachograph - Ensure vehicle downloads are completed every 14 days and discrepancies are checked and dealt with
- **Safety**
- Risk assessments - Carry out risk assessments on tasks on site, and at delivery points and share results with customer.
- **Support**
- Office work - Support the operation with various jobs as required, including daily calls, delivery checking etc.
- Driving - Complete occasional deliveries if required by the operation.
**Hours.**
This role is Mon-Fri working 45hrs per week.
The hours would be working 8am to 5pm, but our client would need flexibility as you would need to cover drivers on both shifts.
