We are looking for an experienced Pastry Chef to assist in the efficient running and delivery of all bakery products, cakes and desserts served at the RSC including public, staff and event catering in our Cafes, Bars, Rooftop Restaurant.

As a Pastry Chef at the RSC you will work closely with the Executive Head Chef to:

- Work collaboratively with other RSC departments to deliver functions and events to their specification and to a consistently high standard
- Drive rotation of all menus on offer, both seasonally and in line with the changing artistic programme
- Ensure standards are meticulous and every cake, dessert, pastry item is created and looks perfect
- Be involved in food tastings or when there are seasonal variations to the menu
- Maintain awareness of market developments and industry trends among suppliers and competitors deriving the implication for action from information and insight.
- Train and develop other chefs to deliver finished dishes/desserts to an agreed standard in readiness for pre theatre service.
- Plan ahead making sure that any cover required in the pastry has been adequately trained before working to ensure consistency of product

To be successful in this role you must:

- Have previous experience for pastry production at a senior level within a busy and high-profile establishment
- Have strong leadership skills combined with a proven ability in management and communication
- Be a motivational, inspirational pastry chef with ideas and innovative ways of working
- Be a self-motivated and pro-active approach with the ability to work flexibly, multitask and deliver in a pressured environment.
- Have appropriate Food Safety Qualifications and be able to demonstrate high standards of health and safety practice
- Always work in a clean and safe manner.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Stratford-upon-Avon. You will be working 48 hours per week, five days out of seven, including evenings and weekends.
