Mental Health Support Worker

**About the Role**:
We are currently looking for a compassionate, reliable, and emotionally intelligent Mental Health Support Worker to join our team, supporting children under the age of 18 with their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
Must have extensive experience within the mental health sector.
Drivers are preferred but not essential
We provide a safe, nurturing environment where every young person feels heard, accepted, and supported—particularly those within the LGBTQ+ community. Your understanding, patience, and ability to connect will play a crucial role in helping young people navigate complex emotional challenges.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide one-to-one and group support to children and young people with mental health needs
- Build trusting relationships and act as a positive role model
- Promote emotional resilience, confidence, and self-expression
- Work in a trauma-informed, inclusive, and respectful way
- Support young people from diverse backgrounds, including those who identify as LGBTQ+
- Communicate effectively with families, professionals, and other team members
- Follow individual care plans and safeguarding procedures
- Help create a welcoming, non-judgmental environment where all young people feel safe and respected
- Work in the comfort of their own home environment
- Encourage and engage with children for daily activities and life skills
**About You**:
- Previous experience working with children and/or young people in a mental health or support setting is desirable
- Passionate about young people’s mental health and wellbeing
- Strong awareness and understanding of the needs of LGBTQ+ youth
- Emotionally resilient, empathetic, and an excellent listener
- Committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion
- Able to work flexibly, including evenings/weekends if required
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £16.15 per hour
Expected hours: 24 - 60 per week
