- The Bush at Penallt (formally the Inn at Penallt) is a 17th Century traditional country inn built on a hill of quartz located in the Wye Valley with spectacular views of the Forest of Dean and the Monmouthshire countryside.

The Inn has been branded by visitors as a ‘little paradise’. We are blessed with countryside tranquillity, little to no light pollution and an abundance of wildlife.

There are fantastic walks both challenging and non-challenging, together with access to various outdoor pursuits such as canoeing on the river Wye, fishing, wild swimming, cycling in the Forest of Dean and horse riding.

At The Bush, we pride ourselves on providing a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with real ales and hearty food made from the freshest of ingredients, catering for all dietary needs. 95% of our fresh ingredients are sourced locally from farmers and artisan producers, including for example Wye Valley honey.

We have a large wood burner in the main living area together with a fire pit outside and blankets for star gazing or a great space for children to play..

We will be offering our renowned Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the near future too.

Duties Will include:

- Immaculate Customer Service
- Food and drink Service including how to prepare for service and how to run service
- Cash Handling and payment processing
- Help create a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere
- Learn menus and prices and daily amendments to the menu such as specials
- Cleaning
- Adhering to company policies
- To Present yourself well to represent the company at all times

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is looking to learn all aspects of hospitality and catering and for someone who wishes to progress to management as you will learn both sides of the business and how they affect each other.

As an Apprentice you will be included on a Level 2 Food & Drink Service qualification. Your Qualification will be delivered by Inspiro Learning who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

To become an apprentice, you must:

- be 16 or over
- not already be in full-time education

You can start an apprenticeship whether you’re starting your career, want a change or you're upskilling in your current job. You can have a previous qualification like a degree and still start an apprenticeship.

As an apprentice you’ll:

- have regular one to one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace
- learn and train for a specific job
- get paid and receive holiday leave
- get hands-on experience in a real job
- study for at least 20% of your working hours
- complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
- be on a career path with lots of future potential

The pub is famed for it's Sunday Lunch and will be very busy for this period regularly.
There will be many different opportunities to assist with during the year such as events and pop up restaurants

You will receive a free meal on shift as there is a meal prepared for all staff daily as part of the team building exercise
The Weekly wage reflects a 30 hour week, your hours may increase to 40 some weeks to suit the needs of the business
Your shifts will include evenings and weekends
