Leader Education are working with an Alternative Provision in **Northumberland**to appoint a committed individual to fill the role of **Mental Health Learning Support Assistant.**

This is an opportunity to work as part of a dedicated, cohesive team in supporting and educating pupils with **SEMH**(Social, Emotional and Mental Health) difficulties.

Your new role involves:

- Supporting students with SEMH difficulties on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Liaising with teachers to ensure the best possible progress for the pupil/s
- Managing challenging behavior when students become anxious or upset
- Delivering fun, engaging activities and sessions
- Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil/s

You need to be:

- Able to handle challenging behaviours confidently
- Flexible and adaptable to meet the specific unique needs of SEMH learners
- Creative and organised in your approach to aid learning
- Passionate about helping students that may have become disenfranchised with education, to achieve their personal and academic goals
