**Educational Support Worker - Exeter - SEPTEMBER START**
The school like to utilise their TAs in different year groups across the Primary School.
Working hours are 8:30-15:30 Monday to Friday.
The pupils are referred from the Local Authority or direct from Exeter Primary Schools. The pupils are excluded or at risk of exclusion so all display challenging behaviours. Children are taught in a personalised thematic curriculum designed to re-engage theminto education.
Pupils have a high level of support with a 1:1 learning mentor. The aim is that the pupil can return to education with better personal skills and strategies to support them. There is a strong emphasis on assessment of the whole child and sharing this both formallyfor SEND assessment but also with family and home school use.
You will be given a full training programme with support in MAPA de-escalation and LOTC (learning outside of the classroom) training alongside health and safety and first aid.
**What the role involves**:

- Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of the Curriculum.
- Working in partnership with parents, teachers and the school to establish a supportive and nurturing learning environment in which children make excellent progress.
- Helping pupils develop independent learning skills, manage their own learning and prioritise their time.
- Manage Challenging Behaviour.
- Become a positive role model to the children.
- Attend Outdoor Education sessions every afternoon out of school with Students.

Full Training to be provided for this role beginning in September, should you be successful.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
