Job Purpose and Reporting
Experienced Buyer required within the UK Purchasing Team to purchase the long lead time components for the manufacturing requirements.
The Buyer reports directly to the EU Supply Chain Manager.
**Note**:
The post-holder is expected to carry out the following responsibilities in a pro-active manner and to a high standard.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Purchase goods, materials, and components from global suppliers in line with specified cost, quality, and stock turn targets.
- Analyse stock usage to ensure resourcing and stock holding decisions meet the business needs.
- Develop the purchasing plan in line with current global challenges to eliminate the risk of component stock shortages.
- Work proactively within the MRP system, utilizing the available various reports and information from suppliers to provide effective visibility to the business of any supply issues.
- Provide a service to various areas of the business (Product development, Project, and Engineering) to source suppliers and provide quotations and lead times in a timely and effective manner.
- Coordinate data sharing (drawings, costs, lead times, production status, samples) between the suppliers and the business to ensure timely supply of part, quotations, and product.
- Evaluate and report supplier delivery key performance indicators.
- Report product cost changes and potential impact to the business.
- Working within the requirements of the business quality system processes.
Person specification
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Essential
- Great data evaluation and analytical skills.
- Computer literate with good MS Excel skills.
- Good understanding the logic of MRP system and adjusting regularly the key purchasing settings according to demand or fast changing supply availability.
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Data accuracy
- Good business and financial acumen
- Ability to work on own initiative.

- Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
- A demonstrated methodical approach
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels by both oral and written methods.
- Ability to use initiative where required.

**Salary**: £27,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
