Amazon Studios is the movies and television development and production arm of Amazon. As a Regional Head of Studios Technology you’ll be a technical leader. You’ll govern Studios Technology’s overall strategy and execution relating to serving our European Studios, Corporate, Production and Post Production teams. You’ll work on Amazon Studios’ hardest problems and think globally when designing solutions, ensuring Studios Technology delivers high performing, scalable services that fit well together.

Studios Technology leaders are pragmatic visionaries who can translate business needs into workable technology solutions. Your expertise is deep and broad; you’re hands on, producing both detailed strategic plans and high-level customer engagement materials. You have experience leading or contributing to multiple simultaneous product development efforts and/or IT projects and initiatives in the Media and Entertainment domain. You are able to balance technical leadership and savvy with strong business judgment to make the right decisions about technology. You’ll strive for simplicity and will demonstrate significant creativity.

Key job responsibilities

As a Studios Technology leader you’ll be expected to:

- Serve as a strategic lead on our most demanding, cross-functional projects.
- Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.
- Fully and completely understand customer demand, inter-dependencies and limitations.
- Effectively research and benchmark Amazon technology against other competing services in the industry in collaboration with Product teams.
- Assist in the career development of others, actively mentoring individuals and helping managers guide the career growth of their team members.

A day in the life

The Regional Head of Studios Technology will serve as the in territory executive representative for all Technology organization programs, which include but are not limited to Production Technology, Media Engineering and Innovation, Technical Operations, Software Development, Content Security and Technology Communications. This leadership role will identify, build and maintain trust relationships with Studios, Production, Prime Video, AWS and appropriate third party partners. Additionally, this role will serve as the local Technology organizational leader, providing dotted line managerial responsibility to Studios Technology personnel located throughout this region. This role will serve as a core member of the Technology leadership team and as such will require some travel to the Studios HQ in Culver City.

About the team
- Passion for customer experience and usability, including successful delivery of customer self-service tools and automated management/optimization of services, and a strong services orientation.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including communicating with other technical teams, product management, and senior management.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based computing/infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.)
