**Operations Controller**
Reporting to the Operations Manager you will oversee all areas of materials handling, inventory control, and transport and support with tasks related to site maintenance and security. You will be required to ensure high standards of customer satisfaction by working with your team as well as other departments throughout the business.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Have a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
- Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
- Organise, resource, implement and record regular stock audits
- Take responsibility for OTIF deliveries and record non
- conformances/exceptions to analyse trends and implement solutions
- Support the automation of Route Planning to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of deliveries
- Where appropriate, oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse management systems
- Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Set standards for product handling to minimise damages and ensure that supplier returns are dealt with appropriately and timeously
- Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure KPIs are met or exceeded
- Maintain standards of health and safety,hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and vaccines are stored safely
- Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles,machinery and equipment
- Ensure robust recording of the relevant safety checks for warehouse lifting equipment / forklift trucks.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory notices and policies (e.g RHA,VMD etc)
- Maintain areas of work to a high standard to ensure operational efficiency and high levels of housekeeping
- Performadditional duties relevant to the role as required by the company
**Skills and Attributes**:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Numeracy and an understanding of finance for stock management
- People management skills, including the ability to inspire, lead and motivate a team of people, delegate work and explain ideas
- Teamworking skills
- Planning and organising skills to effectively manage the flow of stock
- Analytical ability
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Initiative and decisiveness
- Technical and IT skills, particularly when it comes to database management and spreadsheets
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level
- The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- A flexible approach to work
- Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse.
- An understanding of health and safety requirements
- Flexible approach to duties and tasks
- Good understanding of customer deliverables and a customer focused approach.
**Essential Requirements**
- 3-5 years experience in a warehouse environment
- FLT experience and qualifications
- Demonstrable experience of working in a supervisory role
