St Beuno’s is a 60 bedroom retreat centre situated near St Asaph with stunning views over the surrounding hills. We are shortly moving to a new, purpose built kitchen and are looking for a self-motivated and cook to work in our team catering for both our residents and our guests.

The role is for 139 hours over a four week rota between the hours of 7am and 8pm, with a degree of flexibility to ensure a continued service at all times. (Yes, NO late nights) For more details please contact the centre.

This role will pay £10.16 per hour with any overtime paid at the same rate.

**_Main responsibilities will include: _**
- In the absence of the Head Chef or Assistant Chef to take a lead in the direction of other catering staff
- Cooking and serving of meals for guests, staff and residents
- Receive and check delivery of goods and assist in stock rotation
- To ensure that all food is kept securely, under the conditions suitable for it
- To ensure that all policies are adhered to with no unauthorised food or other consumables leaving the kitchen
- To provide fresh, tasty and attractive food for the residents, staff and guests
- Catering for all dietary requirements as necessary
- To maintain good portion control and a pleasing presentation of all dishes
- To deal with customer requests concerning food service issues with professionalism and patience, escalating these to more senior management as appropriate
- To keep store areas neat and tidy, and ensure that all waste and recyclable materials are handled correctly to minimise the risk of infestation
- To adhere to the Health and Safety at Work act, undergoing health and safety training as necessary

- Has food safety qualifications or is working towards them
- Has previous experience in a similar catering role
- Has experience of establishing excellent standards and operational procedures as part of a team
- Has good communication skills
- Is calm, well organised and able to work within a team
- Is flexible and a multi-tasker whilst maintaining an eye for detail
- Is reliable and an excellent time keeper
- Is sympathetic to the vision and values of St Beuno’s
