Neighbourhood Assistant
You’ll never have two days the same as a neighbourhood assistant; you’ll be providing essential support to the neighbourhood team in Hampshire working alongside three other neighbourhood assistants, being supported by a Senior Neighbourhood Officer.
**What you’ll be doing**
You won’t always be at your desk; you may be out and about completing mutual exchange visits and supporting with neighbourhood inspections as required, so there’s a real mix of housing management exposure and an opportunity to further your current housing knowledge.
There’ll be elements of administrative tasks such as letter writing, mail merges, keeping records up to date and electronic filing.
**About you**
You’ll have a background working in housing management, with experience in communicating with customers about an array of tenancy enquiries. You’ll be resilient and able to deliver messages in a clear way to our customers.
Your attention to detail will ensure the electronic filing is up to date and accurate processing is taking place.
You’ll need to have a full UK driving licence so you can get out and about on visits and access to a vehicle to do so.
**What’s in it for me**
We invest in our colleagues because we know if they have a better day at work, the service our customers receive will be better. The Aster Offer is our offer to our colleagues to ensure they have a great day at work and includes things like:
- Flexible working - whilst some roles need to be carried out in a specific place at a specific time, where possible we encourage our colleagues to work to their own schedule at a location that suits them and their team
- A focus on colleague wellbeing - workshops, an employee assistance programme offering counselling and support, virtual GP services, mental health training and a health cash plan for all
- We invest in colleagues’ careers and development through our leader and colleague development frameworks
- Defined Contribution Pension and attached life assurance
- Volunteering hours available to all colleagues to enable them to give back
- Savings at cinemas, gyms, holidays, days out, various shops and eateries and lots more
- Enhanced leave
- We celebrate colleagues who go above and beyond with a range of personalised thank you and monthly and annual awards.
**About Aster Group**
Now is a really exciting time to join us. We’re working towards our vision of everyone has a home. It’s a bold statement but one everyone across our business is passionate about. Our purpose is to improve people’s lives. We provide safety and security through our reliable landlord services and we supply a wide range of housing options in response to the housing crisis. We believe that work isn’t somewhere you go, it’s something you do. No two days are the same here, and agile working is the norm rather than the exception.
We’re on an exciting transformation journey. Our business strategy is clear. Our vision is bold. And what sets us apart is The Aster Way. The Aster Way is not just a set of words. It’s a shared understanding of the way we work - creating a fair and inclusive culture. It’s a set of straightforward principles that underpin everything we do, every day. From how we lead and learn, to how we collaborate, communicate and innovate, this is how we’ll reach our vision - that everyone has a home.
At Aster, we have a customer first culture, with customers at the heart of everything we do, so we expect all our colleagues to be motivated and inspired to deliver a positive customer experience.
We’re a not-for-dividend business established in 1990 and have over £1.6 billion worth of assets. We own and maintain over 30,000 homes, provide services to approximately 90,000 customers and employ 1,300 people. The Aster Foundation is our way of giving something back. It’s the work we choose to do over and above our landlord and development activities.
**Ready to apply?**
To apply, please use information provided in the advert and role profile to let us know why you’d be good for the job.
We create an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and believe that creating an environment where everyone, from any background, can do their best work is the right thing to do.
