Lead Youth Worker

We are recruiting two Lead Youth Workers to join our dedicated team. You’ll plan and lead youth sessions, support staff and volunteers, and contribute to a community where young people thrive. Purpose of the Role:
The Lead Youth Worker will take the lead in planning and delivering youth work sessions, supervising staff and volunteers, and ensuring a high standard of practice. The role contributes to the development and delivery of a vibrant youth programme across Carlisle South, offering educational and enriching opportunities for young people.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of youth work activities.
- Supervise and support staff and volunteers during youth sessions.
- Deliver high-quality, inclusive youth work to young people of all backgrounds.
- Act as deputy to the Youth Work Manager when required.
- Support fundraising efforts to sustain and develop the project.
Operational Duties:
- Provide engaging, inclusive, and safe youth sessions for a range of age groups.
- Work directly with vulnerable and at-risk young people.
- Monitor and evaluate session impact and effectiveness.
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Conduct needs assessments and adapts sessions to reflect the needs of young people.
- Develop and deliver a relevant and inspiring youth work curriculum.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Build positive partnerships with local organisations and agencies.
- Contribute to the financial sustainability of the project through fundraising.
- Manage and support sessional youth work staff.
- Help organise and deliver wider community activities (e.g. community coffee mornings).
- Work within agreed operational budgets and manage resources effectively.
- Complete administrative tasks associated with youth work delivery.
- Signpost young people to additional services and support networks.
- Ensure all work adheres to The Rock’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Contribute to team meetings, share best practice, and collaborate with colleagues to strengthen the organisation’s impact.
