Job Title: Community Shop Coordinator

Reporting to: Directors

Location: Earlham Community Shop, Cadge Road, NR5 8DB

Working hours: This position is for 20-30 hours a week, hours will vary according to operational requirements, may include evenings and some remote working.

**Salary**: £20,000 - £25,000 per annum, pro rata, based on experience.

Earlham Community Shop is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company. Its purpose is to help to prevent poverty and hunger in the local community.

This is an exciting new role which will have responsibility for the development, management and delivery of the new social supermarket based on Earlham Nursery School site.

**Responsibilities**:

- To develop the social supermarket, liaising with the community, other food networks and local organisations.
- To run the supermarket, ensuring an effective and positive shopping experience for members.
- To attract, support and retain a team of volunteers with the support of the Community Interest Company’s directors.
- Manage stock levels, order supplies and arrange deliveries and collections.
- Work closely with the Directors to ensure all budgetary requirements are satisfied.
- To build relationships with other organisations who may also be able to support the shop’s membership.
- To hold, or be willing to attain, a Level-2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
- To ensure the premises attains and maintains a 5-star food hygiene rating and comply with all food safety processes, systems and paperwork.
- To ensure excellent customer service provided in a non-judgmental, welcoming environment.
- To provide the best possible example to our volunteers and members.
- Ensure that all duties and responsibilities are carried out in accordance with relevant policies and procedures, within legislation and any code of professional ethics or relevant professional body.Education and training

**Education and Training**

Minimum of GCSE C or above in English and Maths - Essential

Basic IT skills - Essential

**Knowledge and experience**

History of working within the retail industry - Desirable

Experience of working at supervisory level or above - Desirable

Prior experience of working in a ‘customer-facing’ role - Essential

Experience of working as a volunteer or with volunteers - Desirable

**Skills and abilities**

Possess a friendly and engaging manner and have good communication skills - Essential

Ability to work independently and be self-motivated but also able to work as part of a small team - Essential

Ability to prioritise and organise workload - Essential

Ability to motivate others - Essential

Ability to build relationships with community partners - Essential

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. To this end, you will be required to carry out an enhanced DBS check and may be required to undergo pre-employment checks.
