**We are currently seeking an experienced Head of Marketing to join our Brighton based team, working as part of our Experience Education division, we **operate school and sports group travel across the globe from the UK and Australia source markets, we’re passionate about enriching young people’s lives through travel and delivering experiences that create lifelong memories.**
The Experience Education division is part of the Travelopia Group, a KKR owned company, and is a market-leading provider of educational travel - working primarily with schools, colleges, and universities, we deliver a wide range of experiences for their students: from ski and adventure breaks to international travel supporting core curriculum topics, Sports Tours and Expeditions to places near and far.
It’s an exciting time to join the business. School and many sports groups have been unable to travel for the last two years, so with restrictions lifting, demand is greater than ever. We’ve recently invested in building a single customer view database and launched HubSpot across sales and marketing to ensure we are ready to take advantage of travel’s bounce back.
**About the Role**
To help us achieve our ambitious 3-year strategy, we have built up our marketing team and are now ready to recruit a Head of Marketing (UK) to lead that team. This is a new role, reporting into the Managing Director of Experience Education UK and with five direct reports: CRM Manager, Marketing Manager - EE UK, Marketing Manager - World Challenge UK, Digital Executive and Designer. As the team is relatively new, it requires someone who can build relationships quickly and create a collaborative and motivated team environment from scratch. The role works with stakeholders across the business, but particularly with the Sales Directors and Sales Leads, so will benefit from someone who has experience of working in close partnership with Sales teams.
**What you will be doing**:
- Work closely with the Sales Directors to develop a data and insight-led marketing strategy which generates high-quality leads for each of the UK brands - both from new contacts within educational establishments, as well as repeats - for our sales team to convert
- Translate this into a multi-channel marketing plan for each brand, constantly reviewing and adjusting in line with insight, market forces and commercial priorities
- Work with the CRM Manager to develop a programme to build an engaged database of existing and prospective clients to feed the long-term funnel
- Work with the Marketing Managers to ensure that campaigns are delivered to time and budget, optimising each opportunity across paid, owned and earned channels
- Work closely with Sales Managers to use their insight to understand client interests and concerns and use those when creating engaging content and campaigns
- Analyse campaign results to assess the effectiveness and adjust accordingly
- Provide regular & timely reporting on activity, demonstrating the value of marketing to the business through ROI focussed metrics
- Monitor and report on competitor activity
- Manage one budget across multiple brands, recommending budget allocations to underpin the Divisions’ required sales leads/commercial targets
- Budget tracking and reporting
- Work with the Tech Partner on existing websites review
- Responsible for our non-transactional websites content and user experience, ensuring it is kept up to date and SEO-optimised with engaging content and copy
- Oversee designers and copywriters to produce inspiring and influential campaign materials, web pages, etc
**What we are looking for**
- Customer focussed, with experience of using customer insight and data to set a strategy and translating that into detailed channel plans and budgets
- A marketeer who is able to balance the need and time to set a clear strategy, with being involved in the detail and hands-on support of a small team
- Strong understanding of acquisition and retention marketing techniques including digital marketing, CRM, PR & Partnerships, either as a practitioner or in a supervisory role
- Commercial acumen and reporting experience, using data and metrics to demonstrate the value of activity
- Experienced manager of people, with a focus on developing high performing teams through collaborative, supportive and inclusive style
- Attention to detail, and either creativity themselves or ability to recognize good design
- Ability to stay calm and focussed on a task when under pressure or dealing with unpredictable changes e.g. pandemic and changing travel restrictions
- Understanding of website content management (non-technical)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to challenge and positively influence external partners and internal stakeholders from across areas of the business
- Previous experience with HubSpot will be hugely beneficial. If not, a working understanding of CRM systems is required
