Purchase Ledger Assistant

**THE ROLE**:
We are looking for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to manage the purchase ledger function at group level across our companies, ensuring all internal procedures are correctly followed and all bookkeeping is accurate and up to date. The individual will be closely involved and undertake the tasks listed below, closely supported by the Systems & Development Accountant and other members of the Finance team in Manchester. The small working environment of Allied London necessitates a person who will take complete ownership of the key tasks and be flexible and diligent in their approach.
- Accurately inputting invoices into the various finance systems, investigating any anomalies as they arise.
- Maintenance of supplier database and purchase ledger accuracy.
- Reconciling supplier accounts to supplier statements.
- Be the first point of contact for all supplier queries, escalating internally when required.
- The production of weekly payment runs for various entities ensuring that the correct approval has been sought.
- Ad-hoc payments when required.
- Ensuring all debit balances are cleared in a timely manner.
- Production of monthly creditors reports for both external and internal suppliers.
- Reconciling inter-company creditors and investigating any discrepancies.
- Obtaining approval for and inputting TR’s into the inhouse system.
- Management of invoice transfers from AP system to relevant accounting systems.
- Ensuring AP system & finance software are updated and in sync.
- Ad-hoc duties as required from time to time.
**YOUR SKILLS**:
- Experience in a similar role for a group of companies.
- Meticulous attention to detail and follow through.
- Accurate when dealing with data input.
- Be prompt in dealing with queries.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful.
- Work effectively in a small team.
- Experience in using MS Excel.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.
- Be resourceful in problem solving and seeking guidance.
