**GENERAL OPERATIVE | SORTING LINE / YARD WORK - FULL & PART TIME**

Due to expansion, Select Environmental Services is seeking to recruit General Operatives to join our friendly operations team. Based in south Reading, we provide commercial waste management and recycling services to public and private sector clients throughout the Thames Valley.

This is a role that provides variety and therefore requires flexibility; one day you might be working in our warehouse putting stock away, the next sorting recyclables on the automated picking line at our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) or, out on the road in one of our vehicles assisting the service delivery team.

**DUTIES**
- General housekeeping (yard, warehouse and MRF)
- Loading and unloading vehicles (on and off-site)
- Preparing customer orders ready for delivery
- Cleaning and maintaining the appearance of our vehicles and equipment
- Sorting dry recyclables (paper, cardboard, plastic bottles) at our MRF
- Assisting our service delivery team

**IDEAL CANDIDATE**
- Have a basic understanding of Health & Safety and be able for follow instructions and company procedures
- Be honest, of smart appearance and maintain good levels of personal hygiene
- Have good communication and literacy skills
- Be reliable, resilient and, punctual starting their working shifts on time
- Have a helpful ‘Can do’ attitude to colleagues and customers
- Be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team
- Previous experience within the waste management or cleaning industry is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided

**HOURS OF WORK**:FULL AND PART-TIME SHIFTS AVAILABLE

**16 HOURS PER WE**EK** - 4 Hours Per day - Salary from £6,656 to £7,904 per annum

Monday to Thursday | 10:15 - 14:45 | 30-minute lunch break

**40 HOURS PER WEEK** - 8 Hours Per day - Salary from £16,640 to £19,760 per annum

Monday to Friday | 08:00 - 17:00 | 2 x 15-minute rest breaks | 30-minute lunch break

**45 HOURS PER WEEK** - 9 Hours Per Day - Salary from £18,720 to £22,230 per annum

Monday to Friday | 07:30 - 17:30 | 2 x 15-minute rest breaks | 30-minute lunch break
