**Key Responsibilities**: Responsible for the development and maintenance of strategies and structures which ensure the highest standards of care, clinical practice and interagency working for psychological and psychotherapy services within Barnardos. Identify how Barnardos develops the function to achieve economies of scale and efficiencies. Strategically support the development of psychological practice for Children and Young People (CYP). Work collaboratively to embed a culture of outcomes-based practice, review clinical outcomes of service delivery, and identify changes in practice to improve outcomes.
Work autonomously and collaboratively within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for governance of psychological practice within Barnardos. Propose and implement policy and service development changes within the organisation in respect of psychological and psychotherapy services. Provide expertise and support to create, develop, deliver, and evaluate a suite of recognisable core service models focused primarily on mental health and wellbeing, including a range of therapeutic programmes of tiered support. Support evaluation of existing pilot models of integrated health and social care and identify and help to create new models within the health marketplace.
Support the digital transformation and web presence across all pilot sites including engagement and adoption, training, and evaluation of the suite of digital tools. Input into major contract bid opportunities for Mental Health contracts including the Digital platform contracts. Provide expert inputs to the Strategic Lead for Clinical and Quality Governance to ensure a culture of clinical governance. Ensure the implementation of the clinical governance agenda within psychological and psychotherapy services across the organisation.
Ensure that all psychological therapists within the organisation maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues in relation to service specific client groups. Represent Barnardo's regionally and nationally as requested, promoting Barnardos vision for mental health services for children and young people. Facilitate internal engagement to promote continuous learning for Barnardos. Provide expert clinical specialist advice and support to regions and nations to develop roles and practice for the future.
**Key Activities**: Be the organisational expert, contributing to the professional leadership, sharing expertise and knowledge within CYP services. Lead on the evaluation, development and implementation of clinical supervision models and standards relevant to the profession. Ensure with operational management that all colleagues providing psychological and psychotherapy services within the organisation have access to appropriate professional supervision. Support practitioners to improve the quality of services and outcomes for CYP.
Ensure the provision of appropriate opportunities for the continuing professional development of staff providing psychological and psychotherapy services in conjunction with the Barnardo's Learning and Development team. Contribute to and where appropriate lead, proposals for service and policy developments in the organisation. Implement core policies and procedures and support compliance across regions and nations. Support the development and completion of clinical audit to improve practice.
Support compliance with all relevant governance systems, particularly Caldicott and information sharing principles, Health and Safety and Safeguarding requirements by all partners. Ensure all services comply with anti-discriminatory and equal opportunities policies in all aspects of service delivery and employment in conjunction with the Director of Health, Quality and Inclusion and the Strategic Lead for Clinical and Quality Governance. Ensure compliance with Barnardo's policies and procedural guidelines. Supporting the Mental Health and Integrated Child and Family Health workstreams to develop clinically robust new models and workforce in relevant areas.
Ensure a succession strategy is in place for delivery models assessed within the systems change ambition.
