Acorn by Synergie is hiring a Supplies Inventory Assistant in the Letchworth area on behalf of their renowned Health Trust client.
Roles and Responsibilities:

- To assist the Supervisor with Receipt and Distribution tasks as when required.
- To place ad-hoc orders with NHS Supply Chain as and when required.
- To place orders for stock materials management lines to agreed stock levels, and when required in compliance with agreed Trust product rationalisation/standardisations.
- The post holder will be required to investigate discrepancies, solve problems, contact suppliers and relay information to station and departmental managers.
- Use Agresso and/or iProcurement systems for stock materials management (according to location) and any new systems as developed.
- Count, deliver and put away station and department stock whilst ensuring the stock rooms are correctly labelled and ensuring that stock rotation is continuously carried out. Ensure deliveries are correct against requirements, including unit of issue, investigationand resolution of discrepancies.
- Prioritise workload in accordance with daily demands, ensuring targets are achieved, act on emergencies as required, respond to changing circumstances. Maintain high levels of concentration and focus.
- Follow materials management policies and procedures, including calculating and agreeing stock levels with operational managers.
- Follow the materials management monitoring procedure and carry out stock reviews to ensure stock levels are appropriate and accurate. Record and update all changes on purchase ordering system. Ensure amendments are signed off by station/department managerin line with Trust Standing Financial Instructions.
- Analyse data on usage and spend of all materials managed goods.
- Assist in product recalls and Medical Device Alerts
- Respond to enquiries in an efficient manner, overcoming barriers to understanding through well-rounded interpersonal and communication skills.
- Carry out stock materials management where necessary.
- Customer service activities such as progress chasing and task related problem solving.
- Follow and implement Trust product standardisation policy.
- Respond to NHS hazard notices appropriately.
- Maintain accurate and tidy records where necessary.
- To be aware of and follow Trust moving and handling policies and procedures.
- Respond immediately to urgent, potentially lifesaving, requests for medical supplies.
- To assist in clinical trials
- To assist the Supervisor with Goods Receiving under guidance.
Essential Skills and Experience:

- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to use handheld PDA bar code reader
- Ability to use IT systems: NHS Supply Chain, Agresso iProcurement
- Knowledge of MS Excel, Word
- Experience of working in a customer focused environment
- Experience of working in a stores/stock control environment
- Task related problem solving
- Customer relations skills
Working Hours and Rate of Pay:

- This role is an initial temporary ongoing placement.
- 37.5 hours per week
- For the first 12 weeks: £9.50 per hour
- After the 12 week period pay increase to: £10.40 per hour
