**The Opportunity**

As a HR Advisor you will provide generalist support to our business, getting involved with day-to-day HR activities to provide remote and onsite support and advice to line managers and employees.

Key accountabilities
- Manage the administration of the HR function in order to achieve the HR strategy
- Administer new starter documentation, including qualification and security checks
- Liaise with other teams to ensure onboarding is a seamless process and positive experience for the end user
- Track key employment milestones such as onboarding and probationary periods, working alongside managers to ensure the correct process is followed
- Ensure employee e-files are updated, maintained and accurate at all times
- Be the first point of contact for all HR queries for site management
- Liaise with trade union personnel regularly to proactively address potential issues and quickly resolve present issues
- Support site management team with IR/ER issues, including advice in formal meetings
- Advise and guide site management in formal proceedings, managing potential risk to the business and escalating to HR lead where appropriate
- Update absences records including sickness and annual leave on HRIS and e-files, monitoring absence triggers and advising on frontline absence/attendance management processes
- Ensure appropriate information is cascaded to relevant managers without compromising confidentiality and in line with GDPR
- Ensure the relevant HRIS is up to date, accurate and complies with current legislation
- Complete employee reference requests as and when requested
- Complete weekly and monthly data reports as per HR lead’s request
- Liaise with the Occupational Health department and providers where appropriate for pre-planned, routine and ad-hoc medical reviews
- Coordinate Occupational Health and wellbeing provisions on site
- Support the Social Impact Team, early careers and training department initiatives
- Keep regular communications across the site teams, sharing updates and necessary information via multiple channels of communication to suit a diverse workforce
- Support the wider HR team with Redundancy and TUPE exercises

**The Person**

**Experience**:

- Previous experience within an HR environment (essential)
- Previous experience of working within a unionised environment is (desirable)
- Knowledge of Working Rule Agreements (desirable)

**Skills**:

- Excellent influencing/negotiation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to influence and advise
- Ability to deal with a high-volume workload and prioritise
- Extensive knowledge of employment legislation

**Qualifications**:

- CIPD Member - or ability to demonstrate equivalent level of generalist HR experience
