**Job description**:
Surveyor Technical Training is part of Technical Performance which reports to the Assistant Director, Technical Services (Operations) in the Directorate of UK Maritime Services who facilitate and support surveyor technical training requirements on behalf of the Surveyor Training Group.
If successful, you would be part of a small team responsible to the Surveyor Training Policy Lead for the management of an efficient and effective administration of surveyor technical training in accordance with Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) policy to ensure MCA surveyor technical training meets MCA and international standards.
This includes supporting the procurement, management and evaluation of training products and training schedules for individual surveyors and training needs analyses. This role supports the work of the Surveyor Training Group (STG) through Survey Technical Training Operations Branch in delivering appropriate training policies and standards set by the STG.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become a part of the MCA Team whereby your daily role provides a valuable enabling function to ensure safety of shipping and the sea. It is a fast paced role where no two days are the same and you will have the opportunity to meet and build lasting relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
This role will be based in the Southampton HQ. MCA supports flexible working and operates a hybrid working model between home and office for this role, giving you greater flexibility over where and when you work. Details of the arrangement will be discussed further with your line manager.
There may be a requirement for occasional travel on official duty within the UK, which may involve overnight stays. Full notice will be provided.
**Your responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
- When required liaise with trainers, organising logistics, issuing invitations to delegates, distributing pre course work, raising purchase orders, assigning, and thereafter reviewing end of course assessments and evaluation; goods receipting on satisfaction of completion.
- Explore ways of doing things differently to enhance effectiveness of performance. Embracing the Learning Management System and other technical solutions to support Surveyor Technical Training work.
- Enable and support Marine Office surveyors and headquarters technical staff to maintain their initial and continuation training records with correct and relevant data
- Gain a deep understanding of the Marine Surveyor Development Scheme so that you become proficient and a professional advisor on all things Surveyor Technical Training.
- Assist when Surveyor Technical Training is being certified or audited by internal / external bodies demonstrating compliance adherence through accurate records keeping.
