Environmental Health Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and qualified Environmental Health Officer to join our team to specifically working with the food sector.
Experience in food hygiene inspections and investigation of communicable diseases is desirable. An ability to close a food business is desirable.
You will undertake routine food hygiene inspections as well as those in new businesses. You will routinely investigate infectious diseases and will investigate requests for service that are received from members of the public, food businesses and local councillors/members. In addition you will have your own workload whilst providing support to technical staff within the team.
This is a permanent full time role, based within the Public Health & Protection Department at Ty Elai Williamstown. You will need to be flexible to meet the requirements of the post and ensure the Council meets its Statutory Duties, including working evenings and weekends. We are currently working on a hybrid basis between home and the office but this may change.
Protecting children and vulnerable adults is a core responsibility of all staff appointed to the Council.
