**Who You Are**
- You are a professional with a Degree in Planning and/or Conservation or a related field, with continuous professional development related to heritage and/or development management. You possess a firm knowledge of the relevant laws, government instructions, policies and practices relating to conservation and Listed Buildings. You have good communication skills and the ability to present clear and concise reports to a range of audiences.
- You are customer-focused with a flair for effective interaction with individuals, teams, customers, partners and staff. You are knowledgeable about funding regimes to support heritage projects. You can handle situations with innovation and creativity, recognising controversial and sensitive issues and managing these proficiently.

**What The Job Involves**
- As a Conservation Officer, your role is to promote the preservation and enhancement of the historic built environment of Wirral and provide specialist heritage advice to the Council and the public in line with national standards, organisational requirements and statutory obligations.
- You will be responsible for ensuring appropriate support and advice to a range of stakeholders including building owners, applicants, developers, and members of the public about the care, design, repair and protection of heritage assets.
- You will also contribute to the preparation of studies, guidelines and policies related to conservation and historic buildings throughout the Borough. The role includes planning enforcement matters and the identification and management of opportunities to enhance Wirral’s Heritage through grant programs and partnerships.
