A Group Head of Wellbeing & Safeguarding / Head of Student Wellbeing is needed to join a modern institution with colleges across the UK. Due to exciting growth, they are now seeking a Group Head of Wellbeing & Safeguarding / Head of Student Wellbeing to ensure the highest standard of support for students.
Joining as the Group Head of Wellbeing & Safeguarding you will be responsible for delivering a professional advisory role to the University in relation to the areas of student advice and wellbeing, including keeping abreast of all relevant legislation andbest practice & FE and HE sector guidance. You will lead on the development and implementation of a university-wide wellbeing framework, working with College Principals, Executive Management Group and local college-based Student Services Teams. This will includebenchmarking with other Universities and developing new services to enhance the student experience and improve student retention.
Whether you are preparing detailed data reports for Executive Management Team and College Principals to support the work of the Safeguarding and Wellbeing Committee; informing the enhancement of services to students; developing, implementing & refreshingpolicies and procedures in reference to wellbeing, safeguarding and student mental health; providing support and guidance to local teams in more complex cases such as: student death or suicide, serious accident and allegations of sexual misconduct or liaisingwith external agencies (i.e. Social workers, Community Mental Health Teams and Crisis Team, Regional Hospitals) as required, it will be your experience of providing direct support to students, that ensures outstanding results.
**To qualify ** You should be a Group Head of Wellbeing & Safeguarding / Student Wellbeing Director / Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner /Head of Wellbeing & Advice / Head of Student Wellbeing or similar with a CV that demonstrates:
- Experience of leading a team of student support and wellbeing professionals within an HE and/or FE context
- Personal experience in providing direct support to students and in supporting colleagues with responsibility for student services. This will include experience of training and supervising staff
- Familiarity with national guidance, and sector based best-practice relating to student wellbeing in an HE and FE context
- Professional training and/or qualifications in areas of student support and wellbeing
- The ability to maintain, analyse and present data to the Executive Team, Safeguarding and Wellbeing Committee and other stakeholders, in relation to student wellbeing and safeguarding, to include use of agreed data management systems
- Excellent organisational and project management skills
- The ability to work autonomously.
- Detailed knowledge of current KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education), University Mental Health Charter and Suicide Safer guidance would be ideal but isn’t required_.
