Social Media Volunteer

Keeping our social media channels engaging and making sure they are a safe space for everyone is core to our charity’s success.

Whether it’s about sharing great content about how we've helped older people, updating information about the latest scams to watch out for, or encouraging people to become part of our online community we need social media volunteers to help.

We have opportunities for volunteering across our Social media team to suite all types of skills:

- Research volunteers to help find stories across our work to turn into engaging content.
- Creative volunteers to make eye catching media, reels, stories and posts.
- Administration volunteers to setup posts, manage our feeds and analyse conversions.
- Top Contributors to share our social media posts, comment and moderate our channels.

You will be supporting the Age UK East Sussex Marketing Team through Social Media Channels. This can be a home-based role located anywhere with occasional meetings either in person or via Zoom/Teams. We can provide an office location in Lewes, Eastbourne or Hastings if needed. We are looking for volunteers who would be able to provide a minimum of 2-3 hours a week, more would be preferable if the post holder is able to commit to this amount of time. We will provide a shared desk, computer and phone if required.

**AS A VOLUNTEER WE WILL ASK YOU TO**:

- Support the Mission and Vision of Age UK East Sussex by helping us to ensure that our county is a place where people in later life flourish
- Attend all training and information days, group meetings and supervision
- Adhere to Age UK East Sussex confidentiality and equal opportunities policies maintaining discretion and confidentiality at all times.

**ROLE OF THE VOLUNTEER**:

- Researching and creating content for social media
- Maintaining active social media accounts
- Writing and editing content
- Creating video media (training provided if required)
- Using social media analytics tools
- Communicating the impact of a charity's work
- Engaging with supporters
- Identifying opportunities to work with local community groups
- Other reasonable tasks as required by the Marketing team

**SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES NEEDED**
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good administration and organisational skills
- Experience using social media accounts
- Understanding of social media platforms and best practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok
