**About us**
Wild Water Group is Wales' leading provider of temperature controlled warehousing and distribution services. Our strong position in Wales has allowed us to expand into England and we have continued our consistent growth despite the pandemic with a cold store network spanning across South Wales and England.
Due to our strong position in the region, we plan to expand our Maintenance team and are looking for an experienced Maintenance Operative to conduct general maintenance to keep our sites in good repair.
**The role**
The aim of the role is to identify, report, and deal with any maintenance issues around the sites that could become a health and safety or pest issue.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. You will be based from our Taunton warehouse, however the role will be largely field-based and you will be expected to travel to our 4 sites in England and the Welsh sites as needed in order to conduct repairs and general maintenance. You will be provided with a company van for your travels.
**Role duties**
- Assisting the Maintenance team with any planned or unplanned works that are achievable within your capabilities and qualifications
- General building maintenance, both inside the warehouses and freezer/chilled/ambient chambers and on the exterior of the buildings
- Some minor plumbing or electrical work as needed, if qualified
- Maintaining the grounds of our sites, including cutting grass, disposing of rubbish, management of weeds, etc.
- Conducting repairs such as fitting windows and doors, refitting locks,
- Painting, pressure washing, and cleaning of gutters and downpipes
- Conducting some administrative tasks such as the ordering of materials, collating reports, and taking deliveries
- Working with the Maintenance team to keep our lighting, refrigeration, and heating systems in working order
- Fixing breakdowns of site equipment as required and as achievable within your qualifications
- Assembly and cleaning of furniture and other equipment
**General**
- Taking responsibility for your own health & safety and that of others
- Maintaining compliance with the Group's policies and procedures at all times
- Maintaining confidentiality and observing data protection and associated guidance where appropriate
- Flexible with an ability to work extra hours when needed

**Skills and abilities**
- General building maintenance/handyman skills
- Carpentry
- Minor plumbing or electrical skills (not essential)
- The ability to work confidently and from your own initiative
- A positive and motivated attitude
- The ability to prioritise the competing demands from our various warehouses
- Confidence working with and around moving equipment
- Awareness of food safety standards
- Awareness of health & safety standards and good practice
- Willingness and ability to travel to all of our sites across South Wales and Southern England
**Qualifications and experience**
- Experience using all hand tools
- Experience maintaining commercial buildings ideally in a food environment
- Full and valid UK driving licence
