An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Corporate Nurse Education Team within BCUHB. We currently have 1 Band 7 vacancy for a Lead Practice Education Facilitator for the Central area. The post holder will work strategically with Health Board Education leads and partner education providers to support student nurse education in practice. Post holder will initiate, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with key student placement staff, liaising with key university personnel and other stakeholders to enable innovative and valuable student learning opportunities.

The post holder would be responsible for providing an active and significant contribution to the implementation of these NewFuture Nurse Standards of proficiency for registered nurses in practice pan BCUHB, providing expert advice and support for areas focusing on Practice Assessor/Supervisor and the learning environment.

- Support the Head of Education and Development in ensuring appropriate, effective delivery of, education and development for nurses, midwives and other employees
- Working autonomously as a visible and accessible resource for practice based staff. Maintaining professional standards of conduct to sustain staff and public confidence in accordance with professional and All Wales Codes.
- Through leading defined projects, support the Head of Education and Development in the development and implementation of national and local strategies, to include, professional, workforce and educational,.
- Assesses the quality of a range of clinical practice learning environments, through educational audits and risk assessments, identifies actions required to sustain and enhance practice education, develops implementation plans, and monitors the delivery of actions
- Supports and facilitates the development of clinical practice supervisors/ assessors; provides supervision and support structures.
- Work in partnership with the HEIs in the planning, delivery and review of development programmes for practice assessors/ practice supervisors in order to meet the learning needs of different professional groups, and to ensure that the facilitation of inter professional learning outcomes is included.
- Co-ordinates and provides on-site support, educational input and developmental activities for staff, practice supervisor/assessors and learners
- Develops co-ordinates, evaluates and implements a range of action in line with portfolio, working collaboratively with operational service divisions and external education providers.
- Manage the day-to-day work of the team, ensuring they have defined objectives, and working within agreed parameters to meet the wider corporate nursing objectives. Holding team to account for non-performance, and taking required action to rectify.
- Lead in developing new or updating current programmes for student supervision and assessment in practice line with the NMC standards for students supervision and assessment and revalidation of programmes Lead in working with HEIs and HEIW to maximise clinical placements capacity and learning opportunities to ensure sufficient placements across the fields to meet commissioning numbers and HEIW annual placement plan.
- Work collaboratively with HEIs to ensure all clinical placement educational audits undertaken every two years, with system in place for recording, reporting and monitoring any themes
