**MATERIAL PREP TRAINEE - BACK SHIFT - STELLEX MANUFACTURING LTD - RAF-3087**

**Please note this role will be worked on our back shift, the hours of work for this role are outlined below**:
**Monday - Thursday - 15:45 pm - 02:15 am.**
**Role Overview**:
Reporting to the Shop floor Supervisor your role will be to complete your training in operating the Sheet Metal Guillotine and Notcher, assisting the manufacturing operation of bespoke products including Stainless Steel and other metals, ranging from counters, fabrications and displays. You will be required to learn how to cut and measure and fold sheet metal to the correct size in line with business needs and requirements. Other duties involved in this role are as follows:
**Main duties will include**:
- Learn how to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Assist in carrying out checks and quality assurance of products as per specifications.
- Assist with running the Amada Punch, full training will be given.
- Use hand tools and semi-automatic deburring equipment.
- Carry out general labouring duties which may include removing laser film and other packaging materials, deburring, finishing and cutting of box section
- Maintain and ensure equipment is safe, clean and in good working order, reporting any defaults that may arise
- Ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy, adhering to Health and Safety procedures and policies at all times.
- Any other duties commensurate within this position and skill set required.
**Skills & Experience Required**:
- Experience of working on a shop floor environment within sheet metal would be an advantage although full training will be given.
- Some experience of reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Possess a basic working knowledge of using guillotine machines is a distinct advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
- Must be flexible to meeting the production demands of the business.
- Able to meet reasonable time scales for the work required.
- Be able to work on your own or within a team.
- Possess a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Pay attention to detail and quality.
- Possess the ability to multi-task.

- Salary meets the National minimum wage. When working the back shift, you will receive a £40 a week back shift allowance.
