Our fleet is meticulously maintained, ensuring reliability and performance. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our team.

**1.** **ROLE STATEMENT**

Responsible for carrying out duties in the Fabrication Workshop, including the manufacturing and repair of varying products associated with mobile plant machinery. You are responsible for adhering to Hubbway standards, policies and procedures.

You will be 90% workshop based (Cramlington Depot) and 10% will be site works.

**2.** **MAIN RESPONSIBLITIES**

Carry out fabrication & welding duties as directed by the Workshop Manager or Workshop Foreman. Job types from welding cutting edges in excavator buckets, to burning out seized pins in a telehandler boom, fabricating staircases, welding stainless exhaust, to erecting a steel frame workshop. There are never two days the same, the job is extremely varied. A can do attitude and eye for detail are essential.

Able to work (without) engineering drawings is essential.

Ensure that the fabrication bays are kept to a high standard including the condition of equipment and tools within them.

Carry out pre-use maintenance checks on equipment, reporting faults to the workshop chargehand.

Ensure that shared equipment (e.g. drills) is used and maintained safely and correctly.

Ensure that the Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental Management Systems are followed and that any problems or concerns, perceived or real are reported.

Carry out any other duties as directed by the Workshop Management or Workshop Foreman.

**3.** **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**

You must have had a minimum 5 years’ experience and be able to work on your own initiative.

You must be capable of working on 1mm - 40mm material, mild steel, cast, stainless, aluminium, and brass.

Ability and experience using a variety of tools and equipment used for fabrication. Burning cutting skills are an essential part of your everyday role.

**Welding =**Mig, tig, stick, plasma and gas.

**Tools =** Lathe, metal worker, chop saw, band saw and hand tools.

**Machinery =** Overhead crane, forklift, telehandler

Able to read and understand engineering drawings.

Full knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines.

Knowledge of specific welding processes such as GMAW is preferred.

**4.** **KEY MEASURES**

Can do attitude.

Past experience

Can adapt to different types of projects in workshop or on site.
