A fantastic opportunity has arisen as an experienced ASD Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive school in Richmond

** ASD Learning Support Assistant required in Richmond
** Minimum 2:2 degree required
** Must have some experience supporting pupils with ASD
** Long-term, full-time role for ASD Learning Support Assistant
** £75 - £100 per day

The successful ASD Learning Support Assistant position would suit a creative, caring graduate with a minimum 2:2 degree. The school are seeking an ASD Learning Support Assistant who has broad knowledge of the Autism spectrum and has a track-record of positivelyimplementing behavioural and learning techniques. The chosen ASD Learning Support Assistant will have excellent communication skills and any non-verbal communication such as Makaton or PECS will be extremely advantageous.

The most important responsibility of the ASD Learning Support Assistant is to always create a safe, positive learning environment for the pupils. You will be expected to prepare learning materials when needed and help the teacher create a stimulating classroom.You will spend your time working in the specialist Autistic unit in the school where children are able to flourish in a tailored environment. The ASD Learning Support Assistant will take children out for 1:1 or small group sessions to teach them in a focusedsetting. It is important in this role that the ASD Learning Support Assistant takes care of the physical and emotional well-being of the child.

The school is based in the heart of Richmond on beautiful grounds. They have a highly specialist Autism unit separate to the main primary. Ofsted have praised the unit’s progress in pupils reading and writing and their social development. The Headteacheraims to ensure an inclusive environment is kept and is highly invested in their graduate’s progression into education.
