**We have a new opportunity for a Junior Infrastructure Security Engineer to join the B&M IT team. This is a full-time, permanent position which is based at the Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool.**

Reporting to Infrastructure & Security Manager, the Junior Infrastructure Security Engineer’s primary focus being cyber security. Mitigating and defending against malicious cyber activity and adapting to an ever-changing threat landscape through effectiveincident response and threat hunting, which includes but is not limited to security vulnerability remediation lifecycle across data center equipment, virtual and network infrastructure, Cloudand client devices including installed software.

**In this role, you will**:

- Perform threat and vulnerability assessments, in some cases followed by appropriate remedial action, to ensure that systems are protected from known and potential threats and are free from known vulnerabilities.
- Primary focus being BAU and support for Senior Security Engineers, whilst participating in enterprise testing and assessment activities.
- Tuning preventative and detective security systems in response to emerging threats
- Perform routine threat hunting activities / analysis using the IT departments security toolsets.
- Collate incident and event data to produce monthly exception and management reports.
- Support in developing solutions and best practices for how B&M should be deploying to protect its assets.
- Minimum of 1 years of IT Infrastructure Security experience
- Technical proficiency with mainstream vendors and security-related solutions, specifically Cisco, Microsoft, and VMWare technologies would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of information security principles, including risk assessment and management; threat detection; vulnerability management; incident response; and identity and access management.
- Working with the below would be of benefit:

- Awareness of Cloud based technologies and security management.
- Exposure or understanding of ISO standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to enable effective incident and problem resolution.
