- Fly-Tipping and Waste Investigator - Hammersmith & Fulham.
- 7 pm - 3 is (5 days a week out of 7).
- 8-hour shifts.
- 40 hours per week.

Previous Enforcement experience is not essential, as full training will be given.
**Main Purpose of the Role**:
As a Waste Investigator, you will be expected to patrol the borough in an intelligence-led manner, engaging, and gathering evidence by inspecting commercial waste and other related contraventions as required. The role will be to gather evidence and report findings to the enforcement team and respond to complaints that come from the council's own reporting systems. And be the eyes and ears on the ground for all potential offenses.
**As an Environmental Crime Officer, you will be**:
- Brand Ambassadors for the local authority and National Enforcement Solutions.
- Patrolling the area of principal littering authority in accordance with an agreed deployment strategy.
- Investigating complaints made by elected members and members of the public.
- Engaging and educating members of the public with regard to Environmental Crime.
- Interacting directly with offenders and issuing Fixed Penalty Notices for authorized offenses in accordance with legislation, ensuring that the evidential and public interest tests have been met.
- Compiling a full notebook entry and witness statement for every issued Fixed Penalty Notice.
- Obtaining and validating the personal particulars of an offender by contacting the Operational Support Team.
- Attending Court and giving evidence is required.
- Previous experience in a customer service role and handling difficult situations in a professional manner.
- The ability to communicate with offenders, often in demanding circumstances in a calm and assertive manner.
- The ability to deal with members of the public from all cultures and backgrounds in a diplomatic and professional manner.
- The ability to be resilient, as some interactions with offenders can become confrontational.
- The ability to defuse hostile situations in a professional manner.
- Must enjoy working in the outdoors and in all weather conditions.
- The ability to work under pressure, independently, or as part of a team and on own initiative to carry out the enforcement role.
- Excellent communication skills are required both written and spoken.
- Will be physically fit as you may be required to carry our foot patrol for prolonged periods.
**Contract**: Permanent.
**Hours**:
- You will be required to work 8 hours per shift, 7 pm - 3 am. Flexibility for the role is essential.
