**SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB**

To provide the highest standards of customer service and professionalism always.

**Times of work**

5-hour shifts between the times of 7pm to 3am decided on operational requirements. The shifts are 5 out of 7 between Monday to Sunday which equates to 25 hours per week contractually.

6 month contract with the potential to be extended.

**Hourly rate**

£12 per hour

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Main Purpose of the Role**

As a waste investigator you will be expected to patrol the borough in an intelligence led manner engaging and gathering evidence from inspecting commercial waste and other related contraventions as required.

The role will be to gather evidence and report findings to the enforcement team and respond to complaints that come from the councils reporting systems.

You will be the eyes and ears on the ground for all potential offences.

**As a Waste Enforcement Officer, you will be**:

- Brand Ambassadors for the local authority and National Enforcement Solutions.
- Patrolling the area of principal littering authority in accordance with an agreed deployment strategy.
- Investigating complaints made by elected members and members of the public.
- Engaging and educate members of the public with regard to Environmental Crime.
- Interacting directly with offenders and issue Fixed Penalty Notices for authorised offences in accordance to legislation, ensuring that the evidential and public interest tests have been met.
- Compiling a full notebook entry and witness statement for every issued Fixed Penalty Notice.
- Obtaining and validate the personal particulars of an offender by contacting the Operational Support Team.
- Attending Court and give evidence is required.
