ADM Agriculture operates from locations throughout England and offers a people-based quality service to farmers and consumers. As well as providing an integrated supply chain to ADM’s UK assets in milling and oil seed crushing, We supply a full range of non-grain feed ingredients to the feed and fuel markets, alongside a comprehensive range of seed and fertilisers. In addition we also have a port and storage facility at Great Yarmouth.

We have an opportunity for a WEIGHBRIDGE/LABORATORY ASSISTANT to join our Great Yarmouth port and storage facility working within our Operations team.

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will provide support with import, export and storage operations including the weighbridge and laboratory function. The role is required to work closely with the Site Manager in a broad range of activities across all functions within the site to meet ADM Operational, Quality and EHS requirements.

Your Responsibilities
- Ensure that the site operations including: Import, export, storage, weighbridge and laboratory function comply with both ADM Policies/Procedures and the requirements of the current AIC TASCC Codes of Practice for Storage and Testing of Combinable Crops.
- To be fully conversant with the Site EHS and Quality Procedures and to act accordingly.
- Stock, quality control, monitoring and reporting.
- To actively seek to improve efficiencies and performance.
- To ensure that the company’s equipment is correctly maintained and left safe and tidy.
- Any other reasonable tasks that may be requested by the Site Manager in relation to the role.

Health and Safety
- You will ensure employees, contractors and visitors always follow the site safety rules and comply with the company’s Health and Safety Policy.
- Complete checks to ensure employees and contractors only complete tasks they are qualified to undertake (training must be documented).
- Ensure all accidents and near miss incidents are recorded, investigated and reported to the Operations Manager.
- Ensure work that is considered to present a serious or imminent risk of injury to employees or others is stopped immediately.
- Where new tasks are identified, ensure work does not commence until the task has been risk assessed and a Safe System of Work communicated to the employee performing the task. This must be documented.
- Issue Permit’s to Work as required and ensure the work is checked and signed off in line with company requirements once the contractor has completed the job.
- Ensure qualified first aid personnel and first aid facilities are available throughout all shifts.
- Ensure weekly fire checks and periodic fire evacuation tests are completed (records must be maintained).
