An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Materials Controller to join the Materials Control team in Heston (Heathrow).

**Job Purpose**

The job holder will be part of a team responsible for ensuring that all materials are ordered and managed effectively to the internal and external customer requirements, specifications and schedules, within the required times frame, by using all relevantcompany purchasing and inventory systems. They will also support their Line Manager with management of the stores team.

**Main Accountabilities**
- Place orders with nominated suppliers in line with purchasing policies & procedures
- Provide forecast volume information on products
- Maintain good working relationships with suppliers
- Follow up on delivery queries, shortages etc with suppliers
- Keep the operation informed on product issues
- Carry out investigations into delivery failures and put corrective actions into place
- Carry out stock takes as necessary and use information to manage ordering levels
- Highlight any shelf-life issues to the operations team
- Liaise with the operations regarding menu and product changes promptly
- Ensure information is entered correctly on SAP and deal with troubleshoots promptly
- Reconcile theoretical and physical stock levels
- Ensure any quality issues are resolved with mínimal impact on customer
- Ensure period end stock takes are correctly completed and entered onto SAP
- Manage wastage and stock holdings in line with targets
- Ensure all goods are received in line with due diligence and compliance targets

**Skills/Behaviors and Experience Required**
- Experience of purchasing and inventory management within a fast moving and changing work environment such as FMCG or manufacturing is desired but not essential
- Experienced in operating SAP is desired but not essential
- Ability to plan, organise and delegate effectively, with attention to detail working in a methodical & logical style
- Ability to deliver as directed within set targets with an understanding of cost and control management
- Ability to multi-task in a pressured environment and work to tight deadlines
- Demonstrates effective communication skills - able to communicate effectively at all levels with good verbal and written English
- A team player role model who leads by example
- Driven to operate to the highest of standards especially during periods of change
- Ability to solve problems, generate innovative solutions and make justified decisions that influences key stakeholders
- Must be flexible with work pattern and provide out of normal hours coverage when required
