Credit Controller

Our client have an exciting opportunity for an experienced **Credit Controller** to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity and is offered on a part time basis working 3 days per week with a hybrid option from their Stockport office.
The main duties of this **Credit Controller** (part time) role will include:
- Raise invoices to customers on Xero
- Ensure customer contacts are correct on Xero
- Preparation of monthly bordereaux invoices and liaising with key customers
- Meet cash & debtor day targets set by the Company
- Monitor and organise Accounts inbox and investigate any queries and resolve them in a timely manner meeting set deadlines by liaising with key contacts
- Communicate regularly with senior personnel, including Operations and Customer Account Managers to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary
- Handle disputed invoices and support negotiation to bring payment within terms
- Provide accurate advice on queries
- Identify client issues impacting prompt payment.
- Understand a client’s billing and payment process cycle and propose and drive resolutions
- Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries
- Regularly undertake Customer account reconciliations
- Support and deliver all company policies, procedures and corporate governance
- Allocate bank receipts and banking cheques upon receipt
- Manage credit note requirements
- Enforce client contracts & mitigations when applicable
- Provide ad-hoc reporting and other activity as required
- Place the core objectives of the finance team at the centre of everything
- Contribute to the month end process, including Invoice factoring sales ledger reconciliation
- Build excellent customer relationships, ensuring any issues are resolved at the earliest opportunity
- Monitoring debtor ledgers to ensure accuracy of input
- Credit control, issuing customer statements, chasing debt and attending debt review meetings
Skills required:
- Able to demonstrate experience of working in a professional, busy and demanding SME environment
- Always deliver quality outputs
- Good understanding of credit control policies, procedures, sales ledger credit management
- Experience of invoice factoring desirable
- Possess a good understanding of Excel and Xero
- Experience of dealing with clients at all levels and senior internal personnel to manage client accounts
- Ability to manage & prioritise an extensive workload
- Being the key contact to work between customer service team and finance to resolve customer queries
- The ability to export, analyse and update data in large volumes
- The ability to work as a team with a common goal
- Being able to solve problems in a logical manner, thereby rectifying issues speedily and efficiently.
- Possess good organisational and prioritisation skills
- Be extremely accurate in work undertaken with a keen attention to detail
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads
- A desire to contribute to the development of an ambitious company
- Good interpersonal communication skills, such as written, oral and persuasive communication abilities at all levels.
- Good keyboard skills and competence of Excel and Xero
- High standard of numeracy and excellent attention to detail
- A team player with a flexible approach and a willingness to learn
- Outgoing and confident personality who can operate at all levels & build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business
- A self-starter who is pro-active and can set and achieve goals
- Good standard of education
- Strong organisational & time management skills
- Ability to recognise potential risks that should be escalated
- Able to demonstrate experience of working in a professional, busy and demanding SME environment
Salary and Benefits:
The successful **Credit Controller** will be offered:
- Competitive salary within the range of £23-28k per annum, pro-rata, commensurate with experience and qualifications
- Part time hours working 3 days per week (flexible on days)
