**The Company**

Home Emergency Assist is a FCA regulated insurance intermediary, providing cover for domestic boilers, plumbing, electrics, drainage, and appliances for residential customers. Established in 2013 the company has grown rapidly through direct-to-consumer sales and is now entering a new phase of development through online servicing, sales, and developing technology driven solutions.

The company has a Trust Pilot review rating of “Excellent”. The culture is highly entrepreneurial, with the founding directors taking an active part in the day to day running of the business.

**The Role**

This is an opportunity to join an entrepreneurial team that is developing their Home Emergency Insurance solution to be fit for online distribution and servicing. We are now recruiting a commercially driven accountant to support our business through our next growth phase.

The key objective of this role is to take full financial accountability for the company and be responsible for delivering financial insight. You will maintain a strong financial control environment, ensuring the company’s financial performance is accurately reported and compliance with all financial regulations met. As the business operates within the insurance industry, previous experience of working in a finance function in this sector is highly advantageous.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monthly management accounts preparation and presentation
- Month end close - accruals, prepayments, revenue recognition, analysis.
- Reconciliation of customer transactions
- Insurer trust account control
- Bordereaux preparation
- VAT calculation, submission - knowledge of partial exemption a plus
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Banking
- Forecasting and budgeting
- Support and supervision of the accounts assistant
- Responsibility for the maintenance of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central finance system
- Management of the statutory accounts and corporation tax process with our external accountants

**Requirements**:

- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
- A process & detail driven, methodical and logical mindset
- IT literacy, particularly MS Excel
- Ability to develop processes and make decisions independently
- Comfort and experience with rapid changes in business environment and processes
- Highly effective communication skills
- Influencing skills with SMT members, having commercial awareness at a financial and non-financial level
- Experience in Financial Planning; Budgeting and Forecasting and Variance Analysis
