Secondary Tutor

**Are you a qualified teacher with experience in Special Educational Needs? Do you have an interest in working with children on a 1:1 basis outside of a classroom?**

We are working with the Local Authorities in Hampshire to secure tutors to work with pupils of various ages, delivering tailored sessions which are aligned with their individual needs.

We currently require a tutor to work with a Year 10 pupil who is based in Andover. The pupil has additional needs to include Autism, Sensory needs, Mild hearing loss, and Social & Emotional Mental Health needs. We require a tutor who can work with this pupil,teaching them Maths and English for up to 8 hours per week.

As the successful tutor, you will have experience in working with pupils who have Special Needs, including Autism, and the ability to build a strong realtionship with the pupil.

**Requirements**:

- Fully Qualified Teacher or relevant Degree qualified
- Previous teaching experience
- You will need to plan and deliver lessons
- Ability to tailor lessons to each pupils’ needs
- Awareness and understanding of pupils’ abilities and learning needs
- Ability to demonstrate patience and enthusiasm
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils while maintaining professional boundaries
- Awareness of safeguarding protocols

**Additional responsibilities**:

- 1:1 tuition to take place in the pupils’ home or a local library/community centre
- Progress reports to be completed for each pupil

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
