Consultant Anaesthetist

This is a post for a general anaesthetist.

The distribution of workload and departmental planning requires a degree of flexibility from consultant anaesthetists. The predictable and unpredictable DCC work of this post is annualised and will consist of a combination of fixed (at least one day per week) and flexible clinical sessions (planned sessions 4-8 for theatre/obstetrics) to an agreed annualised total.

As for living in the area, there is a wealth of choice with city living, small towns and villages all within reasonable commute to the hospitals. There are excellent schools and a wide variety of social and leisure activities to choose from

- Direct Clinical Care: 8.5 PAs on average per week

(Includes clinical activity, clinically related activity,

predictable & unpredictable emergency work)
- Supporting Professional Activities: 1.5 Generic SPA on average per week

(includes CPD, audit, teaching, job planning etc.)
