FPSG are partnered with a key Public Sector Client who are looking to take on a Cyber Security Consultant to add strength and expert knowledge to their Digital Services Team in Scotland, with work carried out remotely and when required on-site in locationsin Scotland too.

**As Cyber Security Consultant you will**:

- Assist the Digital Services team, design, implement and integrate monitoring and analysis systems into the Digital Services portfolio.
- Undertake log analysis, leveraging automation where possible
- Investigate security breaches and other cyber security incidents
- Assist with operation and management of information security systems
- Provide Cyber Security consultancy in-house

**Essential skills, competencies, relevant qualifications and previous experience required**:

- Experience gained working in a SoC environment inc procedures, alerting, tooling and ticketing.
- Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth and common security elements.
- Hands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data (e.g. Netflow, FPC), and other attack artifacts in support of incident investigations
- Experience with Next-gen Firewall solutions E.G. Cisco Firepower FMC / FTD
- Advanced understanding of MS Azure and M365 Security investigation tools (MCAS, Sentinel etc)
- In-depth knowledge of architecture, engineering, and operations of at least one enterprise SIEM platform (e.g. Nitro/McAfee Enterprise Security Manager, ArcSight, QRadar, LogLogic, Splunk)
- Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions (Nessus)
- Proficiency with one or more of the following: MS Endpoint Protection, HIPS, IDS/PS, Full Packet Capture, Host-Based Forensics, Network Forensics, and RSA Security
- Understanding of mobile technology and OS (i.e. Android, iOS, Windows), VMware technology, and Unix and basic Unix commands

**Desirable experience and qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
- Prior relevant experience in at least 1 commercial environment
- Advanced certifications such as CISSP and/or SIEM-specific training and certification
