**Job description**:
Working at a number of 3rd party Authorised Testing Facilities (ATFs), you’ll use your knowledge and experience to conduct assessments on a variety of vehicles, ensuring they meet statutory standards.
As a Vehicle Standards Assessor (VSA), you’ll become a recognised expert in roadworthiness standards for the HGV and PSV industries. You’ll play a key part in providing a high quality service and offering advice on vehicle safety and maintenance.

**Person specification**:
This is a hands-on technical role where an eye for detail to spot defects is highly important. It is also a public facing role so you will need the ability to communicate effectively.
We offer extensive training, and you will need to be comfortable using laptop computers and smart phones, as our services become more digital.
**Additional Information**
A technical allowance of £2,590 and a flexibility allowance of £2,400 is paid to all Vehicle Standards Assessors, this has been included in the salary.
Due to the nature of the role, you will be expected to drive on DVSA business. You will be provided with a lease car to facilitate this.
Please be sure you are within a reasonable travel distance of your chosen location, as you will be expected to test at a number of sites within that geographical area.
There is a physical nature to the role, which will require climbing up into larger vehicles to inspect the inside. There is also a need to climb in and out of a pit to inspect the underside.
