Apprentice Trainer / Assessor required in Maidstone, Kent. Up to £42K + Excellent benefits, training and career prospects.

Our client is one of the largest further education colleges in Kent. As an Apprentice Trainer in Engineering, you will work as a member of a growing team ensuring that students receive a high quality learning experience and achieve success. You will be teaching, mentoring and assessing apprentice engineering students, who are employed and visit the college on a weekly basis.

The key attributes are:
Passion for Engineering and desire to share your knowledge with the next generation of engineers

Ability to forward think and plan, good organisational skills

Comfortable with using IT to support function as will be required to use an on-line portfolio (Smart Assessor)

Must be a team player, flexible and willing to join an ‘all hands on deck‘ kind of team

The following minimum qualifications are appropriate as they reflect the majority of content that you would be teaching / assessing in the new Apprenticeships Standard:
Level 3:
NVQ Extended diploma in Engineering Technical Support
NVQ Extended diploma in Engineering Maintenance
NVQ Extended diploma in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering
NVQ Extended Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Key responsibilities:
Teach the ‘Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours’ in the Apprenticeship Standard, to provide theoretical, practical teaching and technical demonstration where required.

Support the development of their apprentices with understanding excellent work ethics, work and life critical skills and knowledge such as Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, British Values, Prevent and Radicalisation, Maths, English skills, Communication skills etc.

Review the Engineering programme content regularly with the team, adapting content that evolves with industry need and reflects the skills

Complete the apprentice progress reviews with the apprentice and the employer, setting learning targets and giving critical feedback.

Develop Lesson plans and schemes of work (this is showing what the apprentices will learn, when they will lean it, how it will be taught and how it is assessed etc)

Develop own knowledge and skills and support colleagues with skills and knowledge development where needed.

Take advantage of all available CPD and complete mandatory CPD when instructed to do so.

Travel costs are paid at £0.45p per mile - business miles only.
